ECS vs EC2 is the wrong question
A study note on why ECS is not an alternative to EC2, what I think the practice questions are really asking, and what I would pick once I understood the layers.
Hi, I'm
Software Engineer, Java / Spring Boot · C# / .NET · AWS
I'm a backend-leaning software engineer. I spend most of my time in the Java / Spring Boot and C# / .NET worlds, wrangling authentication, distributed systems, and the small matter of shipping to production without everything catching fire.
When I grow up, I want to be a cloud engineer. I'm reliably informed this is mostly the same fires, just billed by the hour and spread across more availability zones. So for now I'm collecting AWS certs and quietly learning which buttons not to press.
This site is where I write that thinking down, and where I keep the things I build and solve for fun. Have a look around, and say hi.

A study tour of HashMap internals, the small engineering decisions that keep it fast in the bad cases, and the contract on the user side that quietly breaks it.
